William Beckett may not be wasting words about a girl, but I'm going to.
Oops, my Mom just called me downstairs for dinner. Be right back.
Ok, now I'm back. That was a good dinner.
Anyway, this is one of those typical first posts where I have to explain about myself, right? So, I'll try not to bore anyone.
My name is Mary. I was named after my grandmother, who is quite possibly one of the craziest, coolest 70 year-olds ever. My middle name is Givens, which is an old family name that's been passed on to the oldest daughter since the mid 1800's, so that's pretty cool.
I'm the oldest of six children. Yeah, that's right, six. And yes, I do get enough love and attention.
I have three brothers and two sisters. My brother's names are C.J., Sam, and Bobby. My sisters names are Molly and Chloe.
C.J. is fifteen years old, and I call him my youngest older brother. He is in the eighth grade, and he'll be in the same school with me next year. He's gotten so tall, I think people will think I'm lying if I tell them he's my younger brother. C.J. is also autistic. He is, not lying, one of my best friends.
Sam is nine years old, and he is the middle child of our large family. He is in the third grade. I think it's just his age, but he's a pretty emotional kid. He and C.J. get into arguments quite a bit, but I think it'll stop once Sam gets a little older. He likes video games, and this computer game called Roblox, quite a bit.
Molly is seven years old, and she is a sweetheart. She's in the first grade. She tries really hard to be your best friend. She likes the color pink a lot. She likes Hannah Montana a lot, despite my trying to give her more exposure to better music. She did say that Jack's Mannequin was "ok", so that's better than nothing, right? She, I can tell right now, is going to be a perfectionist.
Bobby is four years old, and he is the cutest kid ever, not gonna lie. He's in preschool. He likes playing outside, no matter what the weather. He likes being read to. He's an extremely picky eater. He likes Thomas the Tank Engine.
Chloe is a year old, and, obviously, doesn't go to school. She is a big troublemaker, but gets away with it because she's sodangcute. She likes anything sweet, and she does this cute dance thing where she bends her knees ever so slightly and goes up and down like that. She likes to watch tv while sitting on the coffee table.
My mom's name is Jen. She's forty-one and would probably make more than most CEO's if being a mother was a paid job. She is kickass and could easily run for President and win, I say. She likes to cook, watch sports, garden, and spend time with us, her crazy kids.
My dad's name is Brian. He's forty-seven and works as a civil engineer. He is really good at Math, which is a trait that, unfortunately, has not been passed on to me. He likes his job a lot and, when he's mad, often threatens to stay there. He is unresponsive during Boston Bruins games, enjoys baking cakes, and thinks The Office is the best show, ever. Ever.
Well, now you know about my semi-normal family, and I guess you want to know about me, right?
Well...the truth is...I don't really know much about me. I think that's why I started this thing.
However, I do know that:
1. I love music. A lot. A loooooooooot.
2. I love reading, a lot.
3. I want to do something in the English field when I grow up. Author, maybe.
So who knows, maybe this'll turn into a writing blog. All I know for now is, I need a place to write everything down.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In other news, today was really boring.
I downloaded the song About a Girl by The Academy Is... (where the title of this post came from), and it is extremely catchy and wonderful.
I also downloaded Chiodos' cover of Flagpole Sitta, off of the Punk Goes Pop 2 CD. I bought it on a whim, because I love the original song, and I have heard nothing but good things about Chiodos from friends. Upon listening to it, I think that it's a good song, but I'm going to have to get used to the screaming.
Right now, I'm listening to this rock remix a guy did of Lady GaGa's song, Just Dance, that PerezHilton posted on his blog a couple weeks ago. The guy did a remix of Poker Face, but I like the Just Dance one better.
It's Spring Break, so I don't have to go to school tommorow, so that's nice.
Also nice: my only homework over Spring Break is to read Part One of To Kill a Mockingbird, which is an excellent book that I highly reccomend to anyone. I have read it previously, so reading it again is fun, because I already know how the novel ends.
But anyway, I already finished Part One, and I've made my Facebook status as such, so that way my fellow English classmates can feel jealous.
I asked my Mom if she thought that Ms.Lippincott would get mad if I finished the entire novel over Spring Break because, as of right now, it's looking that way. My mom said, "Well, why would you tell her?", which is a good point.
So, I'm happy we're reading a good book in English for once.
Tommorow, I'm supposed to go over my friend Catherine's house, which I kindasorta want to not go to. I don't know, I'm in the mood to just stay at home and read more of To Kill a Mockingbird.
And I want Hollie to come over! I miss my best friend, I feel like I haven't talked to her in ages.
And I really want to see Mike, right. now. He got his appendix taken out a couple weeks ago and I miss him. Of course, the minute I realize that I like him and he likes me, this happens. If you ever read this, Mike Mannion, I love you and I hope you're feeling ok.
Anyways, I can't think of anymore lifeshattering updates about my life right now, so I guess I'll go read more To Kill a Mockingbird now.
